Born in Montclaire, CA (Los Angeles) in 1986, Nifty (Vaihi Toki) moved to the Bay Area at a young age, but was raised throughout his teen years in South Sacramento, CA. His parents tried to keep him away from the struggles of their environment, but as his father fell into drugs and his mother’s health started slowly declining, he soon found himself involved in the street life. While working a 9 to 5 to help provide for his two daughters, Nifty linked up with New Hotness Entertainment producer/engineer Joel Banks.
Nifty’s hypeman and first cousin ULA moved to Sacramento from the I.E.(Inland Empire, Los Angeles) in March of 2007. They started up a mixtape Da Capitol Movement Mixtape Vol. 1. Unfortunately, a month later his mother died in April of 2007 (R.I.P. Leamelino Elaipalesi Toki). Nifty’s life changed dramatically from that point on and he was destined to make it by any means necessary. Nifty dropped the mixtape Da Capitol Movement Vol. 1 in October, 2007 to generate a big buzz in Sacramento, but it wasnt enough for him at this point in his career.
Nifty felt his career wasn’t going fast enough, as rap was not paying the bills, and his part time hustle wasn’t making enough to support him. Soon Nifty got into legal trouble in late 2008, and was put behind bars. Fresh out of jail and ready to make an impact Nifty is focused, motivated, and determined to make a name for himself in the rap game. Like so many before him, he has a long and hard road to travel but after losing one of the most important people in his life, nothing can hold him down.
Nifty has recently been touring with the Bay Area’s finest: Mistah FAB, The Pack, The Federation, Keak Da Sneak, San Quinn, Dirt Nasty and is now ready to headline himself. With his new single, “Drop That,” Nifty is taking Northern California radio waves by storm and is considered the next to blow. Who knows what the future holds for Nifty but all he knows is this: “Whatever I do, Imma do it to the fullest! Can’t nobody tell me shit cuz they dont determine what happens to me…I DO!” producer/engineer Joel Banks.
