Well, I recently got in touch with Young Murph and was able to get this from him...
"Hi, I'm Young Murph! Some people may know me as Young Murph the kidd, Ym, some as YMTK, and some may know me as Murphy Holmes... The most important thing to know is that I've dedicated my life to making music that makes people laugh, smile, dance, cry, think, and just plain enjoy. I was born and raised in East Oakland, CA. I have a degree in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and I currently live in Hollywood, CA. I've done shows on both coasts and many places in between, as well as all over Australia. My producer Nic Nac and I are attempting to bring something different, new, and exciting to not only the Bay Area music scene, but to music in general. It's hard to categorize exactly what that sound is... some would say "urban pop".... we just like to call it "hella tight",hopefully you agree!" - Young Murph
